What do you do?
From world class design and application development, to in-house, professional copy-writing, we've been doing it all since 1999. And it shows in our clients. We've worked with large retail distributors to develop e-commerce solutions, small start-ups to help get them off the ground quickly, and everything in-between. We're trusted by clients on five different continents and in every major market to develop and design high-quality solutions to their problem. Let me tell you why.
Communication
Communication is the basis of every project we undertake. We ensure a fast, open, concise line of communication to every one of our clients, and expect the same from them. We'll take the time to sit down and listen - not just hear, but truly listen - to the client's needs and desires to make sure the solution we provide is exactly what the client needs, and that the client knows exactly what to expect.
Planning
Once we engage and communicate with a client, we begin a planning phase. This is why communication is so important, and why so many design/development firms get things wrong from the start. Plans don't always work out; schedules need to be revised sometimes. But you've got to start with something, and we don't rush in.
Project Management
Once a project is off the ground, we manage it in an orderly fashion and ensure on-going communication with you, the client. Sound management keeps everyone on the same page.
Follow Through
The most important aspect of deploying a successful web project. Follow through is that final sprint to the finish line - a strong finish means a strong launch. And once we've launched doesn't mean we take the money and run. We continue to maintain an open line of communication even after the project is finished and deployed. Follow up. Have a few things that you'd like changed? Been a few weeks since project launch? No problem.
Technology
The websites and web applications we develop adhere to current industry standards, ensuring that the website functions and looks the same in all modern browsers on all modern platforms. Coding to standards also means that your project will scale to future technologies in the years to come, with a minimal amount of updating.
DESIGN
The Internet has grown up, and so has it's users. We don't just surf and look anymore. We use, interact, engage, and connect. Good design doesn't just mean eye-candy alone, it means connecting and communicating with your audience. Audience, because, your website is up on a stage. Whether you're the headliner or the cover-band is up to you entirely. Once you decide you'd like your website to be the authority in it's niche, you just give us a call.
User Interface
Whether it's WordPress templates; osCommerce customization; custom, full-site designs; or anything in-between, we've got it taken care of. And as listed, we will absolutely develop a template design for your CMS or shopping cart of choice, but we really do love a blank canvas. One thing the owner and Chief Developer of Stemwinder - Joshua Smith - has made the focal point of his experience and education over the last decade, is user interface design. A design should draw a user in and encourage them to explore, utilize, and purchase. User interfaces should be intuitive and clean, offering up the best of what your website or application has to offer in such a natural way, your user is left with no choice but to engage.
Code
We have an exhaustive knowledge of the fundamental web technologies: (X)HTML, CSS, XML, and Javascript. We also have extensive experience in developing applications in PHP, Perl, Python, and Ruby. We don't touch .NET, ASP or anything else Microsoft. Sorry.
Database
Developing a database is one thing. Developing a database to be optimized, snappy, and scalable up to thousands of concurrent users is another thing entirely. We know SQL development like the back of our collective hands.
